* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and breaking waves due to elevated
surf expected on south-facing beaches. Surf of 4 to 7 feet with
sets to 8 feet for south and southwest facing beaches.
* WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County
Coastal Areas.
* WHEN...Through late Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Strong rip currents and longshore currents for all
beaches will create hazardous swimming conditions. Rip currents
can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people
off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The elevated surf is driven by a
southwesterly swell (200 degrees) at 4-5 feet with a period of
12-14 seconds. Both swell and surf will begin to gradually
lower late Tuesday.

possible.
* WHERE...A portion of Southwest California, including the following
areas, Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts and San Gorgonio
Pass near Banning.
* WHEN...From 11 AM PDT this morning through 7 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Low-water crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms producing rainfall rates of 0.50 to
1 inch per hour may drift off higher terrain and into the
eastern portions of the San Gorgonio Pass, the Coachella
Valley, and the San Diego County Deserts late this morning
through this evening. These rainfall rates are capable of
producing flash flooding, especially in normally dry washes
and low water crossings in the deserts.

higher. Heavy rain has the potential to impact burn areas in
the San Bernardino mountains including, the Line, Bridge, and
Apple/El Dorado burn scars.
