River levels continue to fall along the Georgina River between Roxborough Downs and Marion Downs. Moderate flooding is occurring at Marion Downs and Glenormiston. Minor flooding has eased at Roxborough Downs. As at 06:00 am Monday, the Georgina River at Marion Downs was at 4.85 m and falling slowly, just below the major flood level (5.00 m). The Georgina River at Marion Downs is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) for the remainder of the week.

AREAS OF LOCALISED FLOODING MAY PERSIST ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS Significant rainfall has been recorded across parts of the South Eastern inland areas of the Northern Territory over the last week, causing river and creek level rises and flooding. The risk of heavy rainfall has eased and showers are possible in the Flood Watch area for the next few days. Catchments are wet across the Flood Watch area. River and creek levels, localised flooding, and overland inundation are gradually easing across parts of the Flood Watch area. Many roads may remain affected for the next few days, causing isolation of some communities. Check road conditions before travelling.

RIVER LEVEL RISES AND AREAS OF FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS A broad trough of low pressure extends through parts of the southern and central districts. High tropical moisture surrounding this system is continuing to bring a risk of heavy rainfall. Significant rainfall has been recorded across parts of the Flood Watch area over the last few days, causing river level rises and flooding. Further flooding is expected over the next few days as areas of heavy rainfall persist. Catchments are wet across the Flood Watch area and will respond relatively quickly to further rainfall. River and creek level rises, localised flooding, and overland inundation are occurring across parts of the Flood Watch area. Many roads are currently impacted by flooding, causing isolation of some communities. Check road conditions before travelling. Conditions are also likely to adversely affect the welfare of livestock.
