Special Weather Statement
After a period of light rain/snow showers this afternoon and
evening, temperatures will fall below freezing and into the 20s
overnight. Light winds will limit how quickly wet surfaces can dry
out and thus we expect areas of black ice to develop tonight and
persist through the morning commute tomorrow. Travel with caution,
especially on untreated surfaces and secondary roads.

Coastal Flood Advisory
* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-
lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (4.0 to 13.0
feet Mean Lower Low Water).
* WHERE...The eastern Massachusetts coastline.
* WHEN...Until 2 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Roads remain passable. Shallow pockets of flooding
less than one foot deep affect more vulnerable coastal roads
along the North Shore from Salem and Gloucester to
Newburyport. Rough surf will likely cause some splashover onto
coastal roads around the time of high tide. Roads remain
passable. Low lying areas and roads near Nantucket Harbor,
including Easy Street, may experience pockets of shallow
flooding less than one foot deep.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Sub-freezing temperatures and very cold
road surfaces could allow storm surge to freeze, prolonging
impacts and delaying drainage even after high tide.

Coastal Flood Statement

Coastal Flood Advisory
* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-
lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (4.0 to 13.0
feet Mean Lower Low Water).
* WHERE...The eastern MA coastline.
* WHEN...Until 2 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Shallow pockets of flooding less than one foot deep
affects the lowest lying areas along the coast, including
Morrissey Boulevard in Boston. Most roads remain passable.
Flooding up to one foot deep affects coastal roads on the
North Shore from Salem to Gloucester and Newburyport. Rough
surf will cause flooding on some coastal roads around the time
of high tide due to splashover. Roads remain passable with
pockets of shallow flooding less than one foot deep. This
mainly affects low lying areas and roads near Edgartown
Harbor, including the Chappy Ferry Dock. Shallow flooding may
also approach Five Corners in Vineyard Haven.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Two additional high tide cycles will result
in pockets of minor coastal flooding. The first is very late
tonight with the second around lunchtime Monday. Sub-freezing
temperatures and very cold road surfaces could allow storm surge
to freeze, prolonging impacts and delaying drainage after high
tide periods.

surfaces may allow for some of the storm surge to freeze.
This would result in prolonged issues on those vulnerable roadways
and also delay drainage.
