Special Weather Statement
After a period of light rain/snow showers this afternoon and
evening, temperatures will fall below freezing and into the 20s
overnight. Light winds will limit how quickly wet surfaces can dry
out and thus we expect areas of black ice to develop tonight and
persist through the morning commute tomorrow. Travel with caution,
especially on untreated surfaces and secondary roads.

inches.
* WHERE...Portions of central and western Massachusetts.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 4 AM EST Thursday.

Special Weather Statement
Patchy dense fog this morning resulted in poor visibility as low
as one quarter mile. With temperatures also near freezing, this
could lead to slippery spots on untreated surfaces in addition to
the poor visibility. Elevated surfaces such as bridges are most
likely to have icy spots.
Travelers this morning should slow down and allow extra time to
reach their destination safely. Remain alert for sudden drops in
visibility and possible icy spots.

Wednesday night due to low visibility at times and snow covered
roads.
From: Feb 17, 2026 16:38
Until: Feb 18, 2026 09:00
Special Weather Statement
A weak storm system passing to our north on Tuesday will bring
with it a risk for patchy light freezing drizzle or flurries
during the Tuesday pre-dawn hours into the rest of Tuesday
morning. The anticipated spotty coverage of freezing drizzle
should minimize impacts, although unpaved roads, sidewalks and
elevated bridges could still become slippery. Use caution if
traveling Tuesday morning.

expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways (10.8 to 12.7 feet Mean Lower Low Water).
* WHERE...Eastern Essex MA, Suffolk MA, Eastern Norfolk MA and

* IMPACTS...Shallow pockets of flooding less than one foot deep
affects the lowest lying areas along the coast, including
Morrissey Boulevard in Boston. Flooding up to one foot deep
affects coastal roads on the North Shore from Salem to
Gloucester and Newburyport. Rough surf will cause flooding
on some coastal roads around the time of high tide due to splashover.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Sub-freezing temperatures and cold road
surfaces may allow for some of the storm surge to freeze.
This would result in prolonged issues on those vulnerable roadways
and also delay drainage.

resulting in temporary closure of more vulnerable coastal roads
around high tide Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and midday
Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate flooding, should it occur, is more
likely along the Bay side of Cape Cod, in Nantucket Harbor, and
in Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, and Oak Bluffs on Marthas
