Yellow snow warning
Information on update: Adjustments to headline, further details and what to expect, to add more focus on ice. A band of snow will move across the warning area during Sunday. Across northern England snow will mostly be confined to ground above 200 metres elevation, but across Scotland this could fall to low levels during the morning, before becoming increasingly confined to higher ground through the afternoon.
Whilst not all areas will see accumulating snow at low levels, 2 to 5 cm is likely in places, perhaps temporarily 10 cm before snow turns back to rain. Above 200 metres elevation 10 to 20 cm is possible, perhaps locally up to 30 cm on hills exposed to the strong southerly winds, and over the highest parts of Scotland. Strong winds will lead to some drifting of the snow.
Amounts of snow will depend quite heavily on both elevation and the intensity of precipitation, and as the band pushes east through the afternoon, it will begin to transition to an awkward mix of rain, sleet and snow. Therefore there is likely to be a lot of variation, even over relatively short distances.
In addition, there is a risk of freezing rain across the east of the area for a few hours after dawn on Sunday morning, perhaps leading to widespread ice that would affect all surfaces. Ice from freezing rain, also know as black ice or glaze, is difficult to see and difficult to clear.

Yellow rain warning
Information on update: Updated matrix position, validity times and text. Outbreaks of rain will spread in from the west during Saturday evening, persist through Sunday before eventually clearing away during Monday afternoon and evening. The rain will be heavy at times with accumulations of 50-70 mm developing quite widely across the warning area and over 100 mm across high ground. Totals will be highest across Cumbria, where over 200 mm could accumulate in places during this 48 hour period. Strong southwesterly winds are also possible at times.

Yellow wind warning
Southerly winds in association with Storm Bram will strengthen on Tuesday afternoon with the strongest winds transferring north from England and Wales into Scotland overnight before gradually easing during Wednesday morning. Gusts around 50-60 mph are possible fairly widely, and potentially in excess of 70 mph for some exposed headlands and high ground. Winds should gradually ease across Wales and northern England during Tuesday night and across Scotland on Wednesday morning.

Whilst the rain may ease for a time during the afternoon across Cumbria, another pulse of heavy rain is possible here during the evening and overnight, with all rain eventually clearing early Tuesday morning.
20-40 mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely across the warning area, but higher ground could see 50-80 mm, with perhaps nearer 100-120 mm in a few places over the Cumbrian fells.
Strong south to southwesterly winds will also accompany the heavy rain, with gales possible around coasts and over high ground.

Yellow ice warning
Outbreaks of rain will spread southwards during Tuesday evening, falling as snow on hills with accumulations of 2-5 cm possible in places above 300 m elevation, perhaps locally higher over the Lammermuirs and Cheviots. As rain and hill snow clears to the south overnight, temperatures falling to or below freezing will lead to the risk of icy patches on untreated surfaces.

Yellow rain warning
Rainfall will spread northeastwards on Saturday, and become persistent and at times heavy. Through this period 20-40 mm of rain is expected to fall widely, with some locations perhaps seeing 75-100 mm, with much of this total falling in the later hours of the event. From mid-Saturday onwards, increasingly strong gusty winds and perhaps some thunder will also accompany the rainfall, further increasing the risk of disruption.
By the early hours of Sunday, persistent heavy rain will have likely cleared from Wales, with this rain easing for Northern England and Scotland by dawn on Sunday morning. Showers then follow and winds remain strong through Sunday.
