Flood Watch
A band of one inch or more of rainfall from Sauk County through
Green Lake County expected. Given the increased rainfall totals,
partially frozen ground temps, along with warm air temps will result
in an increased potential for ponding and minor flooding for
low-lying areas/roadways as well as rises on rivers from ice jams.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and/or snow melt and/or ice jam is
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Wisconsin, including the
following counties, Columbia, Green Lake, Marquette and Sauk.
* WHEN...From 3 PM CST this afternoon through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rainfall of one inch or more paired with ice jam
potential may result in ponding and minor flooding across the
watch area.

Flood Watch
Heavy rain late this afternoon through this evening will fall on a
melting snowpack and partially frozen ground and frozen rivers
leading to the quick runoff. Flows in some rivers will increase
quickly, leading to the potential of minor flooding and increasing
the potential for ice jams.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and
northeast Wisconsin, including the following areas, in central
Wisconsin, Marathon, Portage, Waushara and Wood. In east central
Wisconsin, Calumet and Winnebago. In north central Wisconsin,
Langlade. In northeast Wisconsin, Brown, Door, Menominee, Northern
Oconto County, Outagamie, Shawano, Southern Marinette County,
Southern Oconto County and Waupaca.
* WHEN...Through Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in minor flooding of
low-lying and poor-drainage locations, including urban areas. Storm
drains and ditches that are clogged with ice and snow may lead to
flooding of adjacent roads. Minor flooding could occur on rivers,
streams and creeks, including the potential for ice jams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rain may mix with snow over central and northern WI, which will
impact how much minor flooding occurs.

Special Weather Statement
Snow will continue across the area into early this evening. Overall,
snow amounts will be an inch or less in most areas, but with the
cold temperatures, the snow will lead to slippery conditions on
less traveled and untreated roads. Visibility may be reduced to
less than an mile at times. Exercise caution when driving by
increasing your following distance and allowing extra time to
reach your destination.
Snow will begin to taper off over central Wisconsin after 6 pm, but
not until after 7 or 8 pm over eastern Wisconsin. Some light lake
effect snow showers will linger most of the night over far northern
Wisconsin.

Special Weather Statement
Light to occasionally moderate snow continues to move into
southern Wisconsin late this afternoon, and will continue into the
early evening hours. Visibilities as low as three quarters of a
mile are possible in the steadiest snows. While accumulation will
remain minor, slick spots are possible on elevated and untreated
surfaces. Light freezing drizzle may mix in with snow to the
south and west of Madison, which could lead to additional slick
spots. Precip will begin to move south of the region after 8 PM.
Budget a few extra minutes of travel time if taking to the roads
through early evening.
From: Dec 30, 2025 22:42
Until: Dec 31, 2025 02:00
Special Weather Statement
Snow is beginning to mix with freezing drizzle over central
Wisconsin. Expect this wintry mix to impact areas from Marathon
through Waushara counties, including Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids,
and Coloma. Portions of I-39 and highways 10 and 29 may be impacted
by a wintry mix. The freezing drizzle and snow occurring with
temperatures well below freezing will lead to icy spots on untreated
roads, sidewalks, and other surfaces. Use caution if traveling this
evening by increasing your following distance and allowing extra time
to reach your destination.
Expect the snow and freezing drizzle to gradually diminish after 7
pm over central Wisconsin.
