gusts of 45 to 55 mph are occurring. This is leading to blizzard
conditions from Granite Falls and Olivia to Redwood Falls, New Ulm,
and Mankato. A Blizzard Warning is in effect for these areas. Farther
north, light to moderate snow continues which will result in travel
impacts into this evening. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in
effect south of I-94 in Minnesota, except along I-90 where much drier

.Rain will transition over to snow by mid morning resulting in a few
inches of accumulation through this evening. A narrow band of
accumulating snow will develop on the southern end of the surface low
pressure. This band will track roughly from Morris to the Twin Cities
metro. Winds increasing later this morning as the changeover to snow
happens will cause reduced visibility and slick travel. Snow will be
wet and heavy, but some minor blowing snow cannot be ruled out in
open areas.

rain initially becoming snow as the lower atmosphere cools underneath
strengthening forcing for ascent. Rain early on will transition to
snow generally from west to east as the atmosphere cools, becoming
all snow by Tuesday evening. Snow rates could exceed 0.5 inches per
hour at times leading to quick accumulations favoring central
Minnesota.
Winds will increase as the system moves through, with gusts as high
as 35-40mph late Tuesday into early Wednesday leading to reduced
visibility and blowing snow.
