Information on update: The warning area has been expanded eastwards across southern England whilst the validity period has been delayed. Peak rainfall accumulations across Dartmoor have also been increased slightly. Outbreaks of rain are expected to become persistent later on Monday, especially overnight, before gradually clearing during Tuesday, perhaps not clearing the northeast of the warning area til Tuesday evening. Accumulations of 10-20 mm are possible fairly widely, with perhaps as much as 40-60 mm over Dartmoor. Given saturated ground following recent rain, there is a chance this may leading to some flooding and disruption in places.

Yellow wind warning
This warning was originally issued as a dual warning for Rain and Wind. Storm Ingrid, named by the Portuguese national weather service IPMA, will bring spells of heavy rain and strong winds across parts of southwest England and south Wales during Friday before easing on Saturday morning.
An initial band of rain early Friday could bring a further 10-20 mm of rain in places in a few hours, with this falling on already saturated ground. A drier interlude is expected before further bands of locally heavy rain and showers push north into the area through the afternoon, evening and overnight. A further 15-20 mm of rain is expected to fall widely across the region by Saturday morning, with 30-40 mm possible in places. Given the saturated nature of the ground, this is likely to lead to some flooding.
This second period of rain will be accompanied by strong winds and coastal gales, along with some very large waves. Gusts are widely expected to be 45-50 mph inland and up to 60 mph near coasts, with winds peaking during Friday evening before gradually easing overnight and into Saturday morning.

Accumulations of 20-40 mm are expected fairly widely, in some places falling in just a few hours, with the potential for 40-70 mm in a few isolated spots, this most likely across parts of the southwest England. Given the saturated ground, this may lead to some surface water flooding.

Information on update: Updates to warning area and further details. An area of heavy rain will move in from the west late on Sunday evening, becoming widespread across the region early Monday, before clearing to the east Monday night.
Rainfall accumulations will vary across the region, but 20-30 mm of rain is expected to accumulate quite widely. As much as 50-80 mm could build up across areas of high ground in southwest England and Wales, with very locally 80-120 mm possible for parts of south Wales and Eryri.
Strong south to southwesterly winds will also accompany the heavy rain, with gales possible around coasts and over high ground.

Rainfall accumulations will vary across the region, but 20-30 mm of rain may accumulate quite widely. As much as 60-80 mm of rain could build up across the high ground of Dartmoor, and perhaps 40-50 mm of rain could accumulate across the higher parts of Exmoor, Dorset, the Mendips and Cotswolds.
Strong south to southwesterly winds will accompany the rainfall, particularly near English Channel coasts.
