Special Weather Statement
Any snow that melts today today will refreeze after sunset as
temperatures will remain below freezing through Monday morning
across much of the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Thus,
widespread black ice can be expected this evening through Monday
morning. If traveling, be prepared for hazardous road conditions,
especially on bridges and overpasses as well as on untreated
roadways. Use extra caution when walking on sidewalks, driveways,
and in parking lots. Although temperatures will rise above
freezing across most locations by Monday afternoon, patchy black
ice may linger across the higher elevations of the North Carolina
mountains as well as in shaded areas throughout Monday.

There are reports of patchy black ice this morning around Central
North Carolina. Temperatures will remain below freezing through
mid-morning, keeping some slick spots around through that time.
Secondary, less traveled roads, bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks
