A strong low pressure system approaching Hudson Bay will bring strong winds, 10 to 15 cm of snow and blizzard conditions to parts of the Qikiqtaaluk region.
Beginning this evening in Kinngait and overnight for the Melville Peninsula, strong winds gusting as high as 80 to 90 km/h accompanied by falling snow will bring reduced visibilities in blowing snow and blizzard conditions. These conditions are expected to last until Wednesday morning for Kinngait and Thursday morning for the Melville Peninsula.

A major winter storm is poised to impact portions of the Qikiqtaaluk regions, particularly the Melville peninsula, and southwestern Baffin Island.
Conditions will begin to worsen for the Baffin communities in the evening on Tuesday, and then the Melville peninsula on Wednesday morning.
Hazards from this winter storm may include severe wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h and blizzard conditions.
