High Surf Advisory
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY THROUGH 6 AM HST WEDNESDAY FOR EAST FACING
SHORES OF KAUAI OAHU MAUI MOLOKAI AND THE BIG ISLAND...
...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT IS CANCELLED...
.Combination of strong easterly and a moderate northeast swell
will generate rough high surf along east facing shores through
tonight and should drop below advisory levels Wednesday.
.The Coastal Flood Statement has been canceled. Most tide gauges
show peak water levels have dropped near to below minor flooding
levels during peak tides Monday and will continue to trend below
minor flooding levels with the peak high tide early this morning.
* WHAT...Surf heights of 8 to 12 feet.
* WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and
the Big Island.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents

Flood Watch
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR ALL HAWAIIAN
ISLANDS...
* WHAT...The possibility of flash flooding caused by excessive
rainfall.
* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.
* WHEN...Through Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be
closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas
may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to
rapid runoff. Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow
of streams and drainages. Landslides may also occur in areas with
steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A kona low north of Kauai will move generally south today and
Monday, remaining close to the west end of the state. It will
then move west and weaken Wednesday into Thursday.
Deep moisture within an increasingly unstable environment
will remain across all islands. Expect periods of moderate to
locally heavy rainfall and isolated thunderstorms. For Big
Island and Maui County, the greatest flood risk remains along
southeast facing mountain slopes as southerly flow more
efficiently lifts rich moisture up these slopes.
Lingering instability over some islands may extend the timing
of this Flood Watch into Tuesday.

AM MONDAY TO 6 AM HST WEDNESDAY...
...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING FOR ALL

.An easterly wind fetch generated by lowering pressures south and
west of the islands will significantly increase easterly wind
wave swell. This building east swell will impact most eastern
facing shores of all islands through early Wednesday. This
smaller period chop will reach advisory heights early Monday.
.Peak monthly high tides combined with water levels running
higher than predicted will continue to lead to minor flooding
along the shoreline and in low lying coastal areas. Minor coastal
flooding is most likely around the daily peak high tides, which
will occur in the early morning hours.
* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, surf heights between 10 to
12 feet. For the Coastal Flood Statement, isolated minor coastal
flooding.
