Visibilities have dropped down to a half a mile in some locations and will likely continue to drop over the next several hours. If lower visibilities materialize, a dense fog advisory may be needed. Motorists are advised to drive with caution this morning as visibilities may widely vary over short distances. Use low beam headlights and leave extra distance between your vehicle and others on the road when encountering significant reductions in visibility. Allow extra time to travel to destinations.

Special Weather Statement
An Arctic cold front is forecast to move through South Florida early next weekend bringing the potential for the coldest air the region has experienced since January 2010. This cold blast could last into the early portion of next week. While the exact details remain uncertain at this time, there is the potential for lows to drop down into the 30s across a good portion of the region and even into the 20s west of Lake Okeechobee. When the wind is factored in, the wind chill values have the potential to be colder than the actual low temperatures during this time frame. Residents and visitors to South Florida should continue to monitor the latest forecast from NWS Miami throughout the week on the possible cold to frigid temperatures.
