Special Weather Statement
An Arctic cold front is forecast to move through South Florida early next weekend bringing the potential for the coldest air the region has experienced since January 2010. This cold blast could last into the early portion of next week. While the exact details remain uncertain at this time, there is the potential for lows to drop down into the 30s across a good portion of the region and even into the 20s west of Lake Okeechobee. When the wind is factored in, the wind chill values have the potential to be colder than the actual low temperatures during this time frame. Residents and visitors to South Florida should continue to monitor the latest forecast from NWS Miami throughout the week on the possible cold to frigid temperatures.

Special Weather Statement
Area observations, cameras, and satellite imagery all indicate that patchy fog has formed across east central Florida, generally east and south of Greater Orlando to portions of the Space and Treasure Coasts. There have been a few instances of dense fog, with visibilities down to around a quarter mile. Trends will be monitored, and if the fog becomes widespread, a Dense Fog Advisory may be required later tonight. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Special Weather Statement
Through 8 am, areas of fog will expand across portions of east central Florida, including Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. The fog may become locally dense, less than a half mile, in spots. Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility. When encountering fog, slow down, increase following distance, and use low-beam headlights.
