An area of occasionally heavy rain will move northeast across the warning area during Thursday morning and afternoon before clearing to the east through the evening. Given recent very wet weather, there is potential for some disruption to travel and possible flooding.
Much of the warning area will see 15-25 mm but some places could see 40-60 mm, with the highest totals falling over high ground of south Wales and Dartmoor.
Strong winds, perhaps gusting in excess of 50 mph along some English Channel coasts, may exacerbated the impacts from rain.

There will naturally be some variation in rainfall totals across the area, but accumulations of 20-40 mm are likely in quite a few places, with 60-80 mm over Dartmoor and high ground in south Wales. There is a small chance of 80-100 mm falling over the most exposed, prone hills. Given the saturated nature of the ground, this is likely to lead to some flooding in places and transport disruption. Yellow snow warning
Wintry showers will feed southwards across southwest Wales and parts of Devon and Cornwall through Wednesday and Thursday, moving well inland on brisk northerly winds. Some snow accumulations will be possible in places, especially overnight and/or farther inland away from the immediate windward coast. Whilst some places will see little or no lying snow, where showers are most frequent accumulations of 2-5 cm are possible, and perhaps up to 10 cm in a few isolated spots, more especially on hills above 200 m elevation in Pembrokeshire and west Carmarthenshire.
Gusty winds and hail may accompany some of the showers, and where showers persist and/or snow partially thaws and refreezes overnight, this will bring a risk of ice.

Outbreaks of rain arriving from the west during Tuesday morning will turn heavier and more persistent during Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by a strengthening southerly wind with gales developing in places.
20-40 mm is likely fairly widely, with 50-70 mm building up in the wettest spots, these most likely but not exclusively on the south facing slopes of the moors. Rainfall may continue into Wednesday, although details become increasingly low confidence; this warning may be extended tomorrow or a fresh warning issued for early Wednesday should confidence in a wetter scenario increase.
Given recent wet weather, and saturated ground in places, this could lead to flooding in a few spots. More generally, difficult driving conditions are likely for the evening commute in particular, with delays due to slow traffic and the increased possibility of accidents.

There is a small chance a few places could exceed this, most likely over North Devon and Cornwall and more generally in the east of the highlighted area.
