Loose objects or debris will become airborne and may cause damage, destruction, and personal safety hazards. Wind can also cause damage to infrastructure, make driving conditions difficult. Power supply disruptions are expected. Wave activity can threaten coastal infrastructure, form washouts, flood low-lying areas. 27.12.2025. from 17:00 till 20:00 in Riga the water level will rise up to +115...+130 cm LAS. BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas! Caution should be exercised when moving in flood-prone areas. On the coastline of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga, strong winds together with high waves can cause a significant rise in the water level. Yellow Snow-Ice Warning
14.12.2025 by day locally in the east part of Latvia, but in the evening and 14.-15.12. in the first part of the night in many places freezing precipitation is expected - icing will form on roads, tree branches, wires and other surfaces. BE AWARE of icing! Outdoor activities will be disrupted in certain areas. Be careful when walking, riding a bike or car - a thin layer of glazed ice forms on the roads. Glazed ice will form on other surfaces as well, incl. wires and tree branches - the most fragile of them can break due to increased weight.
