Special Weather Statement
Continued dry fuels and low humidity across the region raise
concern for increased fire danger. Although winds will not be as
strong as the previous day, relative humidity values nearing
critical levels combined with dry fuels support a continued
elevated fire weather threat across the Midlands and CSRA. Outdoor
fires will have the potential to spread quickly, increasing the
danger of wildfires.
A statewide burn ban remains in effect for South Carolina until
further notice.

Until: Mar 30, 2026 00:00
Special Weather Statement
While moisture is expected to begin slowly recovering today,
another very dry afternoon is expected with relative humidity
values between 15 and 25 percent forecast across much of the
area. Although winds will be mostly light, between 5 and 10 mph,
the dry air combined with very dry vegetation will result in a
continuation of elevated fire danger.
Statewide burn bans are in effect for both North Carolina and
South Carolina until further notice. Open burning of any kind
is subject to fines until the bans are lifted.
From: Mar 29, 2026 08:05
Until: Mar 30, 2026 00:00
Special Weather Statement
The combination of relative humidities falling near or below 30
percent, northerly wind gusts up to 25-30 mph, and dry fine fuels
will create increased fire danger conditions across parts of the
northern and western Midlands. Given the dry vegetation and
increased winds outdoor fires will have the potential to spread
quickly, increasing the danger of wildfires.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution as fires
can quickly get out of control under these conditions.

Until: Mar 24, 2026 02:45
Special Weather Statement
Dry brush and leaf litter have become very dry in recent days due
to breezy conditions and low relative humidity. These conditions
are forecast again today. Relative humidity will fall below 30
percent for much of the afternoon and evening hours, and wind
gusts may reach 25 to 30 mph at times. Given the dry vegetation,
outdoor fires will be able to spread quickly once started,
increasing the danger of wildfires.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.

travel conditions are possible once again, especially on untreated
roadways and in shaded spots where not much melting occurred
today. Drive carefully and please refer to local officials for
specific road conditions in your community.
