Special Weather Statement
Scattered snow showers are producing locally reduced visibilities to 1/2 mile or less across the region this afternoon. Rapid drops in visibility may occur within the span of a few minutes. Although snow accumulations are very light, they are still producing some slippery roads. Gusty west to northwest winds to 25 to 30 mph are also resulting in minor blowing and drifting of the new snowfall. If traveling this afternoon into this evening, be prepared for reduced visibility and slippery roads at times, especially in more open and less forested areas.

Snow will continue across the area into early this evening. Overall, snow amounts will be an inch or less in most areas, but with the cold temperatures, the snow will lead to slippery conditions on less traveled and untreated roads. Visibility may be reduced to less than an mile at times. Exercise caution when driving by increasing your following distance and allowing extra time to reach your destination. Snow will begin to taper off over central Wisconsin after 6 pm, but not until after 7 or 8 pm over eastern Wisconsin.
