31.01.-01.02.2026 at night in many places in Latvia heavy frost is expected - air temperature will decrease to -20...-24º, but in the central and east regions very intensive frost -25...-29º. BE AWARE of intensive frost!
During intensive frost, there is a risk of health problems for certain population groups, such as the elderly and infants, also the homeless. To avoid body cooling and frostbite, provide yourself with clothing suitable for the frost, and avoid inactivity when you are outside!
There is a risk of disruption of certain infrastructure elements and traffic. Motor vehicles may be inoperable, insufficiently insulated water pipes may burst, and there is a higher risk of fire accidents due to the increased usage of heating systems.
Due to the frost, it may be necessary to change or cancel planned activities and works if they are planned outside heated premises! Students under the age of 12 may not attend school.

10.01.2026. by day in the Gulf of Riga clouds will form, which in narrow strips will bring heavy snowfall to the west part of Latvia – there the snow cover will increase by 5-9 cm. Roads will be slippery and covered with snow, and visibility during snowfall will decrease. BE AWARE of heavy snowfall!
Snowfall can hinder the movement of vehicles on the roads, as well as pedestrian movement.
Visibility will be reduced during snowfall and blizzard conditions.
Snowfall and wet snow deposits in certain areas can cause tree branches to break and damage power lines.

Yellow Fog Warning
30.11.-01.12. 2025 in the middle of the night locally n Latvia fog with visibility 200-500 m has started to form, it will remain also in the morning. BE AWARE of the fog affecting large areas, it can be very dense in certain areas!
Daily outdoor activities can be affected. Transport movement on roads, as well as air traffic, can be affected. Note that road travel will take additional time.
Air quality can be reduced due to fog, especially in cities.
