Thunderstorms
The thunderstorm and strong wind warning for Huangpu sub town street has been lifted. In the past hour, there have been thunderstorms and heavy rain in the central and northern parts of our district, accompanied by gusts of 6-7 levels. Among them, Xinlong Town recorded a maximum gust of 16.0 meters per second (level 7). At present, the thunderstorm cloud has weakened and moved out of our area. The Huangpu District Meteorological Observatory removed the thunderstorm and strong wind warning signals for Jiufo Street, Longhu Street, Xinlong Town, and Yonghe Street at 16:55 on the 13th.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal
Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 is in force.
This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometres per hour are expected.
At 8 a.m., Typhoon Matmo was estimated to be about 350 kilometres southwest of Hong Kong (near 20.1 degrees north 111.8 degrees east) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards Leizhou Peninsula. Over the past few hours, Matmo skirted more than 300 kilometres to the southwest of Hong Kong and started departing gradually. Local winds are still strong over many places, with occasional gales offshore and on high ground. The outer rainbands associated with Matmo will bring occasional squally showers, thunderstorms, and violent gusts to the territory at first today. The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 will remain in force at least until noon today.
Seas will be rough with swells. Members of the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
In the past hour, the maximum sustained winds recorded at Cheung Chau, Tap Mun and Green Island were 76, 64 and 61 kilometres per hour with maximum gusts exceeding 100, 76 and 91 kilometres per hour respectively.

At 11 a.m., Tropical Storm Ragasa was estimated to be about 590 kilometres west of Hong Kong (near 21.6 degrees north 108.5 degrees east) and is forecast to move west at about 18 kilometres per hour crossing the coast of Guangxi towards the northern part of Vietnam and weaken gradually.
