Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to mid forties with overnight minimum temperatures generally in the low to high twenties for the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West, North West and Gulf Country districts. Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to low twenties for the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Peninsula, Herbet and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Capricornia and the Wide Bay and Burnett districts. Severe heatwave conditions have are building over northern, central and eastern Queensland, and are expected to persist until a milder southerly change contracts the severe heatwave conditions to the far north of the state early next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Barcaldine, Doomadgee, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Moranbah, Monto, Rockhampton and Richmond.
