Yellow rain warning
A region of rain and showers, heavy at times, associated with a slow moving area of low pressure is expected to drift across Northern Ireland overnight Saturday into Sunday.
10-20 mm is expected widely and in a few spots as much as 25 mm could fall in a 9-12 hour period, leading to localised flooding and difficult driving conditions.
It will also become windy with easterly winds gusting 30 to 35 mph inland and to 45 to 55 mph on some coasts and over high ground. Winds will ease after midnight.

Yellow ice warning
After a band of rain clears through on Wednesday evening, clearing skies will allow temperatures to fall rapidly bringing an ice risk overnight, especially on untreated surfaces.
A few showers will also persist across counties Antrim, Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh, adding to the ice risk in these areas with rain falling on frozen ground.

Heavy rain will spread across the whole of Northern Ireland on Saturday night, gradually clearing to the east on Sunday morning. The rain will be heaviest in the southeast, covered by the warning area, where 20-30 mm is expected to accumulate widely. Over the Mournes 60-100 mm could build up, much of this falling in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Storm Amy is expected to bring a spell of strong winds to Northern Ireland later on Friday and overnight into early Saturday. South to southwesterly winds will increase during the afternoon, peaking during the evening with gusts of 50-60 mph in many areas, and potentially in excess of 70 mph in more exposed places, especially along parts of the north coast.
Winds will ease somewhat through Saturday morning, but it will remain fairly windy through the rest of the day, with gusts of 60-70 mph still possible along the north coast and more generally 45-55 mph inland.

Yellow rain warning
Information on update: Update to extend warning into Saturday to cater for further rainfall. A band of heavy rain associated with Storm Amy will cross Northern Ireland during Friday, followed by blustery showers and then another band of heavy rain overnight. This second band of rain clearing southeastwards during Saturday morning.
Accumulations of around 15 mm are possible within 2-3 hours in association with the rain bands, with 20-30 mm expected in total through the warning period. Following rainfall in previous days, this could cause further flooding and some travel disruption. The rain will be accompanied by very strong winds, for which separate warnings have been issued.

Storm Floris will bring a spell of unusually windy weather for the time of year across the northern half of the UK early next week. The strongest winds are most likely to occur across Scotland during Monday afternoon and night, although there remains some uncertainty in the depth and track of Floris. Across the warning area, many inland areas are likely to see westerly wind gusts of 40-50 mph with 60-70 mph possible along exposed coasts and high ground, especially Scotland. There is a chance of a spell of even stronger winds developing for a time, with inland gusts of 60-70 mph and 85 mph along exposed Scottish coastlines and hills. Winds will first ease in the west during later Monday but remaining very strong overnight until early Tuesday in the east. Heavy rain may also contribute to the disruption in places.

Information on update: Warning updated to adjust time of cessation. Storm Floris will bring a spell of unusually windy weather for the time of year across the northern half of the UK on Monday. The highest winds are expected across Scotland between late morning and early evening. In some areas high winds will be accompanied by heavy rain. Wind will then slowly start to ease from the west later.
Across the warning area, many inland areas are likely to see gusts of 40 to 50 mph with 60 to 70 mph possible along exposed coasts and high ground, especially Scotland. During the height of the storm, winds over parts of Scotland will be even higher and this is covered by a separate amber warning.
