* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these
temperatures.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Similar wind chills to last night are
expected tonight into tomorrow morning. Confidence is increasing
that temperatures and wind chills will warm by Thursday.

Wind chills across communities in the Southern Alaska Peninsula

this evening. Warmer temperatures look to arrive on Thursday.

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations 6
to 10 inches for King Cove and False Pass, and up to 3 inches for
Sand Point and Cold Bay. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
Visibility reductions to one-half mile or less.
* WHERE...Southern Alaska Peninsula.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could blow
around unsecured objects.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow and gusty winds may continue
through tonight.

High Wind Warning
* WHAT...West to southwest winds 40 to 50 mph, with gusts as high as
75 to 85 mph expected.
* WHERE...Eastern Aleutians and Southern Alaska Peninsula.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
cause power outages. Travel will be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The next round of high winds will begin in
the late morning/early afternoon and continue through this
evening. Confidence is increasing that the threat of high winds
(gusts of 75 mph or greater) will drop off quickly after midnight
tonight.

High Surf Advisory
* WHAT...Water levels as high as 4 to 7 ft above the normal
highest tide line.
* WHERE...Along the Alaska Peninsula Coast from Nelson Lagoon to
Port Heiden.
* WHEN...Until very early Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...High surf may lead to coastal erosion and elevated
water levels of low lying areas along the coast.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwesterly winds will gust as
high as 65 to 75 mph today. The strong winds will increase
wave heights along the Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula
coast, leading to rough seas and high surf. The high surf and
wave heights may lead to areas of coastal erosion and elevated
water levels in low-lying areas, especially during the high
tide cycle early this afternoon.
