...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS TO PERSIST TODAY DUE TO BLOWING SNOW
AND SLIPPERY ROADS...
.Although the potent storm system responsible for the blizzard
conditions and accumulating snow has shifted east of the area, its
residual impacts will persist across central and southern MN through
western WI. Road conditions are still hazardous due to icy layers
under the accumulating snow, while elevated winds are still producing
reduced visibility and blowing snow conditions. These elements will
make for hazardous travel conditions through the day today, even with
winds diminishing and partial clearing by later today.
If necessary to be out traveling today, motorists are urged to allow
plenty of extra travel time and allow plenty of space between
vehicles as slippery roads may still be encountered.
* WHAT...Blowing snow and slippery roads, bridges and overpasses.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central,
southeast, southwest, and west central Minnesota and northwest and
west central Wisconsin.
