Special Weather Statement
A Bering Sea low and a North Pacific low will bring snow and
strong winds to the Alaska Peninsula beginning Friday evening.
About 3-6 inches of snow is forecast for Central Alaska Peninsula,
with north to northeasterly winds gusting as high as 35-45 mph
from Friday night into Saturday. Blowing snow may reduce
visibility below one mile at times, though confidence is lower
regarding whether winds will be strong enough to significantly
reduce visibility to below one-half mile. Prepare for difficult

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could blow
around unsecured objects.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of stronger winds, especially around
Lake Iliamna, may produce blowing snow that could significantly
reduce visibility. The latest models are trending towards a
quicker end to snowfall, which may taper off by early Tuesday
morning.

highest tide line.
* WHERE...Along the Northern Alaska Peninsula Coast from Pilot
Point to Egegik.
* WHEN...Until very early Tuesday morning. Highest water levels
expected during the high tide between 12pm and 5pm today.
* IMPACTS...Coastal flooding of low lying areas and erosion are
possible. For Pilot Point, these water levels may lead to
minor flooding for buildings along Dago Creek Road. For
Egegik, water may approach buildings along the shoreline.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong westerly winds will gust as high
as 40 to 50 mph this afternoon. These strong winds will
coincide with the high tide, leading to coastal water levels
as high as 5-8 ft above the normal highest tide line.

water levels of low lying areas along the coast.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwesterly winds will gust as
high as 65 to 75 mph today. The strong winds will increase
wave heights along the Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula
coast, leading to rough seas and high surf. The high surf and
wave heights may lead to areas of coastal erosion and elevated
water levels in low-lying areas, especially during the high
tide cycle early this afternoon.
