Any snow that has melted or remains on roadways will refreeze as temperatures will drop into the teens to 20s across much of eastern Georgia by early Monday morning. Thus, patchy to widespread black ice can be expected especially in areas that received higher snowfall accumulations over the weekend. Exercise caution during your morning commute especially along bridges, overpasses and any untreated roadways. Additionally, be mindful while walking on sidewalks, driveways and parking lots. Temperatures will rise above freezing by Monday afternoon which will help the melting process.

Any snow that melts today today will refreeze after sunset as temperatures will remain below freezing through Monday morning across much of the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Thus, widespread black ice can be expected this evening through Monday morning. If traveling, be prepared for hazardous road conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as on untreated roadways. Use extra caution when walking on sidewalks, driveways, and in parking lots. Although temperatures will rise above freezing across most locations by Monday afternoon, patchy black ice may linger across the higher elevations of the North Carolina mountains as well as in shaded areas throughout Monday.

Flurries and snow showers will linger this evening, especially along the Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee mountains, northeast Tennessee, and southwest Virginia. Be prepared for slick spots overnight into Tuesday morning, especially on untreated roadways. Use caution if traveling.
