Patchy dense fog has developed across the Upstate of South
Carolina and in the Piedmont and Foothills of western North
Carolina this morning. The fog will likely linger through the
early morning hours before dissipating by 9 am. If driving, be
prepared for sudden reductions in visibility. Slow down, use low-
beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles.

Minimum relative humidity will drop near or below 25 percent east
of the mountains in North Carolina and across most of northeast
Georgia this afternoon. Breezy conditions are also expected with
gusts ranging from 15 to 25 mph. The combination of low humidity,
breezy winds, and dry vegetation will lead to increased fire
danger today.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.

Areas of patchy dense fog have developed across most of the South
Carolina Upstate and some parts of the North Carolina Piedmont
along Interstate 85. Visibility below 1 mile, and as low as 1/4
mile, is reported at multiple observing sites across these areas.
Expect fog to continue for the next several hours, possibly until
rush hour. Visibility may drop suddenly and over short distances.
If driving, increase your following distance and turn on your
low-beam headlights.
