ISLANDS...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.
* WHEN...Through this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be

* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.
* WHEN...Through Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be

- A kona low north of Kauai will move generally south today and
Monday, remaining close to the west end of the state. It will
then move west and weaken Wednesday into Thursday.
Deep moisture within an increasingly unstable environment
will remain across all islands. Expect periods of moderate to
locally heavy rainfall and isolated thunderstorms. For Big
Island and Maui County, the greatest flood risk remains along
southeast facing mountain slopes as southerly flow more
efficiently lifts rich moisture up these slopes.
Lingering instability over some islands may extend the timing
of this Flood Watch into Tuesday.

west of the islands will significantly increase easterly wind
wave swell. This building east swell will impact most eastern
facing shores of all islands through early Wednesday. This
smaller period chop will reach advisory heights early Monday.
.Peak monthly high tides combined with water levels running

* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be
closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas

rapid runoff. Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow
of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed,
along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to
runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A kona low will develop north of Kauai late tonight and drift
southwest Sunday before moving to the west Monday.
Deep moisture within an increasingly unstable environment
will spread across all islands. Thicker offshore cloud bands
caught up within southeasterly to southerly winds will
produce periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall and
possible isolated thunderstorms as these bands come onshore.
For Big Island and Maui County, the greatest flood risk
remains along southeast facing mountain slopes as southerly
flow more efficiently lifts rich moisture up these slopes.
Locally heavy rainfall across Oahu and Kauai will also
increase the threat for flooding during the watch period.
